Futsal Code of Conduct
Men’s Over-18 Competition
Purpose
To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful environment for all participants in the Menai Anglican futsal competition.
1. General Principles
Respect: Treat all players, coaches, officials, spectators, and facility staff with respect, regardless of their background, ability, or role.
Fair Play: Compete with integrity, adhering to the rules of futsal and the spirit of the game.
Safety: Prioritise the safety of yourself and others on and off the court.
Sportsmanship: Display humility in victory and graciousness in defeat.
2. Players’ Responsibilities
- Play within the rules and respect decisions made by referees, even if you disagree.
- Control your temper and avoid aggressive behaviour, verbal abuse, or sledging toward opponents, teammates, officials, or spectators.
- Refrain from using prohibited substances, including drugs or excessive alcohol, before or during matches.
- Report any injuries or unsafe conditions to the team captain, referee or competition organiser immediately.
- Refrain from bringing prohibited items (e.g., alcohol, weapons) into the venue.
- Respect the facilities, equipment, and property.
3. Team Captain Responsibilities
- Lead by example, promoting positive behaviour and sportsmanship among players.
- Respect referees’ decisions and avoid confrontational or abusive language.
- Ensure players are aware of and adhere to the competition rules and this Code of Conduct.
- Foster an inclusive environment and discourage discriminatory or offensive behaviour.
- Prioritise player safety, including ensuring appropriate warm-ups and addressing injuries promptly.
4. Spectators’ and Supporters’ Responsibilities
- Encourage players in a positive manner, avoiding abusive, derogatory, or offensive comments.
- Respect the decisions of referees and competition officials.
- Avoid interfering with play or officials.
- Refrain from bringing prohibited items (e.g., alcohol, weapons) into the venue.
5. Conduct Violations
Unacceptable Behaviour includes but is not limited to:
- Verbal or physical abuse toward any individual.
- Deliberate or reckless dangerous play that endangers others.
- Damaging venue property or equipment.
Consequences: Violations may result in warnings, suspensions, or bans from the competition, as determined by the referee or futsal committee. Serious breaches may be reported to local authorities or the governing body.
6. Commitment to the Code
- All participants (players, referee, and spectators) are expected to read, understand, and uphold this Code of Conduct.
- By participating in the Menai Anglican Futsal competition, you agree to abide by these standards to ensure a positive and competitive environment for all.
By selecting 'Agree' below and paying the registration fee, I declare my agreement and acknowledgement of the following in respect to my participation in Futsal at Menai Anglican:
1. I am an adult over the age of 18 years of age.
2. I agree to make the competition organisers immediately aware of any health, medical or other personal information that may affect my capacity to participate in the activity in a safe manner.
3. I acknowledge and understand that while the church and the competition organisers endeavour to provide a safe environment, futsal is a high exertion activity and a contact sport and that I am at risk of injury as a participant. Injuries may include muscle cramps, muscle soreness, pain, discomfort, fatigue, exposure to COVID-19, abrasion, laceration, bruising, bone dislocation or breakage, head injury including but not limited to concussion and other injuries that may require medical treatment or hospitalisation.
4. I acknowledge that I participate at my own risk and, to the full extent permissible by law, I release and indemnify St. Pauls Anglican Parish of Menai (Menai Anglican Church) and the Anglican Church Property Trust Diocese of Sydney, their respective officers and employees, and the competition organisers from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or personal injury that I may suffer, including exposure to COVID-19, as a result of my participation in the activity due to any cause whatsoever including negligence, breach of contract, or breach of any statutory or other duty of care.
5. I acknowledge and understand that the registration fee for this competition will be used for resources and referee fees associated with the activity, that it does not include any component for insurance covering the participants and that it is matter for each participant to determine their own medical/health insurance arrangements.
6. I acknowledge and agree to be bound by and comply with the competition rules and any COVID safe requirements. I understand and accept that I and/or my team may face sanctions including expulsion from the competition without refund at the discretion of the competition organisers if I fail to comply.
PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST PERSONALLY SIGN THIS WAIVER BEFORE TAKING THE FIELD IN ROUND 1.
