WHAT IS SUMMERFEST?
Summerfest is a week-long, whole church mission, aiming to reach all of Menai with the Gospel. It’s kind of like Beach Mission… in Menai.
WHY ARE WE DOING SUMMERFEST?
Toward the end of Luke 5 Jesus is sharing a meal with the tax collectors and sinners. The Pharisees and Teachers of the Law question why Jesus would eat and drink with such people. Jesus says,
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Luke 5:31-32)
We see here Jesus’ priority to seek and save the lost. This same priority is at the heart of Summerfest.
There are 3 aims we’re hoping to accomplish through Summerfest –
- Share the good news of Jesus with Menai and beyond
- Train for a lifetime of mission
- Build a culture of mission into the life of Menai Anglican Church
With God’s help we’re praying that during the week of Summerfest we’ll meet and connect with kids, youth, and adults to introduce them to Jesus that he might change their lives.
WHAT DOES THE WEEK OF SUMMERFEST LOOK LIKE?
Summerfest is a five day event from Monday to Friday. The first two days are team days; where the team will do a mix of training, planning, and praying, all whilst having plenty of fun bonding as a team. The following three days are program days; where the team will host a variety of activities, talks, events for kids, youth, and adults.
